GMV developed tecnology playing a key role in the operation & use of Metop

Europe has been using its famous Meteosat weather-forecasting satellites for 28 years now. These satellites have now been joined by MetOp, the first in a new generation of meteorological satellites, designed to provide a closer view of the atmosphere from low earth orbit, delivering data that will improve global weather prediction and enhance our understanding of climate change. SPGF, the plan generation facility for the SMOS satellite, was officially accepted by the European Space Agency in the week running from 11 to 16 September in ESTEC and in the week running from 16 to 20 October in ESAC. (Source GMV)|
ESA’s GOCE gravity mission has recovered from a glitch that prevented the satellite from sending its flow of scientific data to the ground. News of the recovery comes earlier than expected, thanks to the fervent efforts of a team of experts.
